FHP: Lawrence Taylor, ex-NFL star, is accused of DUI in PB county

ccording to the Florida Highway Patrol, Lawrence Taylor, a former NFL star was arrested in Palm Beach County Friday evening under suspicion of DUI.

FHP spokesmen said Taylor was taken into custody after a collision on Florida’s Turnpike. Sgt. Mark Wysocky is the spokesperson for FHP.

WPTV NewsChannel 5 is the Palm Beach Post’s news partner. It reports that Taylor, 57 was driving south on Turnpike, Beeline Highway, when he was involved in a collision. WPTV reported that Taylor changed lanes and crashed into a motorhome and sideswiped a patrol car.

According to WPTV, he was taken to Palm Beach County Jail.

Taylor, a former linebacker, was a 13-year veteran of the New York Giants. He helped the team win Super Bowl titles (1987 and 1991).

His past history includes pleading guilty to sexual misconduct in 2011 and patronizing a prostitute under 18 years of age. He was sentenced for six years probation.
